Life on the River Shannon
Island Life is a series of videos commissioned by the Hunt Museum for the 2016 Communities of Culture project. It documents recent historical stories around the Shannon River. It comprises a series of interviews with Limerick City residents who live on or close to the waterway. They share their childhood memories of playing, working and living on the Shannon.
This project allowed the working class communities of the city to share their stories. Individuals brought one item that had special significance to them; each interviewee then had a chance to discuss what their object meant to them in their life on the river.
